Hmmm tis very strange......
Are you able to take a screenshot please? (Press ctrl+Shift+p, the file is saved into your images folder)

You do not need to be root, just tested again and it works fine.

Well, flashing is like a lcearout... i did mine a while ago, and it did feel a bit smoother
