I think that is splitting hairs.
Who knows, if Bob joined maemo.org at the first day he got his N900 or 3 weeks after?
Maybe he was only reading unregistered first, and then after registering he could provide immediately help for "less-skilled" members, because he have had read so much.
But in the end it doesn't make a difference how we have to deal with new users:
