wooohoooo!!

it works.

I had rebooted after the installing the kernal flasher.

but to be sure i just rebooted there again.
And this time didn't connect to 3G, before starting the hotspot app.

I got a popup saying internet connection failed, did i want to reconnect.
Selected no, and continued ....

sure enough it worked.
Can get online with my macbook no problem.
