Yep, the pre-Fremantle virtual keyboards supported gestures, which made typing easier, more productive and even a bit fun (especially on the N800 with a stylus). This has been removed in Fremantle for some (seemingly) pseudo-multitouch text input feature that does not really work for me that well. The hardware keyboard is very good, though.
