Hello, I want to announce EasyPlayer, an easy to use music/audio-book player for Maemo 5. You'll find EasyPlayer in extras-devel. It's written in Python, and was packed with py2deb. Features: It scans automatically the audio files on startup and represents those files in a directory like tree structure. It depends on the filename rather than on the meta tags. It also has a resume play function and a adjustable timeout. Each directory containing audio files is displayed in an own folder, which could be expanded or collapsed. I wrote this primary for listening to audiobooks, but it's (of course) also useable for music. The reason why I'm stay with the filename rather than the meta tags, is that if you encode audio books on CDs (e.g. with CDex), most times the meta tags went wrong and it's much easier to correct the filenames. Features planned: Save and load playlist (currently it rescans /home/user/MyDocs/.sounds on each startup). This may take while if you really have a lot of music files… Scanning of any SD cards Volume bar (use the volume keys now) Use the slider to "sweep" through the audio files Features not planned: A editable playlist. There are other players which support this. Use them. I find it much easier to browse through the dirs and to expand and collapse the folders. Try it and write what you think about it. Hope you enjoy it, Klaus
