Guys the issue is not in the detail. It is clearly FALSE advertising and to settle this I will take legal advise before pursuing this matter with nokia!

quite simply they refered to an extant/existing product in the marketing of a new product that being OVI MAPS. We all took that to mean the . . . the ovi maps we have come to love, they should correctly alluded to a new prodct such as ovi maps light edition or something like that.

In truth, for those in the know the term ovi maps actually describes a product that has gone through a number of enhancements and represents a specific version of that product with certain features.

I have tracked that product since my N80 when nokia bought a company that had a mapping product and made it available. smart2go. anybody remember that. lets call that version 1. this product evolved into nokia maps. lets call that version 2. nokia maps becase ovi maps with internet syncing to match wayfinder and a whole load of other features.

to then bring out a flagship product and advertise it as containing ovi maps when in truth it contains a cut down version is i believe in legal terms 'passing off' or false advertising.

lets learn from a certain japanese car manufaturers failings in US. i say pertition noooo. law suit hell yes . . . .
