If you haven't heard, have a look at the "NUT" application, a command line tool for working with the USDA food nutrient database. http://nut.sourceforge.net/
It seems to do a whole lot more, very interesting. Didn't test but based on the documentation I'd guess it uses some sort of curses like interface. Integrating nut to the calculator/points log is not doable in any sensible way and not even desirable.

However porting nut to Maemo might be a good idea (main question is if it chokes in case the terminal is not 80x25)
