Had the same issue after reboot, but the newest update 0.0.3.2 made it work again
Have not tried to replace the sounds yet.

Edit: Replaced the open.mp3 and it works just fine Though i had to do a stop and start lockdaemon in xterm for it to work. Is that how its suppesed to work

Edit: It's working now without the stop/start in xterm, must have done something wrong the first time i replaced the sound
