...but I'm not asking for a repair under warranty. I want to pay them to repair my phone outside of the warranty.

Quite right - I should be able to. However, calling the Nokia US number even gives me "This number cannot be reached from your area code". Amazing. As Kriek quite rightly noted, Nokia USA is set up to fail.

Do I follow the logic involved? Yes. Does it make sense as a consumer? Not so much.

Does anyone know if Industry Canada has approved the N900?
