LOL i'm not giving up on it, i'm just trying to allocate limited resources in the best way, and saying that GLES support may not be part of this port. I will continue to push new versions to the builder, thus making all the work that goes in upstream available. That's the central idea behind porting the modern version. Our task here on this end is to identify the most pressing and specific problems with the Maemo port and fix them to make the upstream version translate to an equally good experience here. As i don't even have MAME installed on a PC, nor time/interest in playing arcade games except sporadically to test MAME, i need feedback of the kind that users can give.

For example, for the games that run slow here, are they also slow(er) on the PC compared to another game? If not, there might be something specifically wrong with the port that's not a problem with the upstream project. On the other hand, if a game doesn't work well on a PC or N900, it would be good to know that so i don't waste time trying to figure out the problem. Matching up poorly functioning games as being all of the same system is helpful to know which machines are problematic. Anyway, that's the situation. Ya'll are my eyes and ears, and i can only see and hear what you tell me. I'm interested in fixing things that are broken if they are in demand, but may not be adding new features as that was never the plan for MAME.

Well i've said more than enough on the subject. I rotate between projects because this is a hobby, and if a hobby is not fun it's rather pointless. My interest in spending time on a project is determined by how creative/interesting the solution will be, how much of a perceived need exists, and how much support i get on the parts of the project that i can't/won't spend time on.

I've got a lot on my plate and won't be working on this for a while, it's just come up because of the recent proliferation of emulator threads and the noisy, illiterate, and indiscrete kids that has brought to the forum, which is demanding too much time in moderation and making me take another look at what i'm trying to accomplish here with yet another emulator.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
MAME: an arcade in your pocket
Accelemymote: make your accelerometer more joy-ful
