it's possible I suppose, but I'm not trying to use multi-touch on it. I am just using one finger to press one button and it still doesn't respond.

I think one of the difficulties is moving from a resistive to a capacitive screen and having to adjust the angle of the finger to get a response. On the N900 you can pretty much use any part of the finger/nail and get a response, but on a capacitive you really do need to use the flat of the finger for best results. That certainly helps on the X10 but still doesn't make it perfect...
