There's a very cool video on the Meego area about overclocking the N900.

I'm running at 800Mhz and don't see a huge difference, but I do see a distinct small difference.

Oh, and to answer Cashclientele's inquiry -- there have been no serious bad consequences attributable to overclocking that I know of on the N900, but that is misleading, because experience has been brief.
