i,ve just got mine yesterday and overall I'm happy with it. I still haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not since I have two weeks to decide. It's an amazing device, right now I'm typing from it. It's still hard to get used to it but I'm comming from the E series.
the major problems I have with it is staying connected to skype and the wlan, from time to time it decides to disconnect without saying anything. I still don't kmow if it's from my wireless or not so I have to test it a little more since this is a deal breaker to me. the browser is great and the phone has so much more potencial, I've seen what the future Iphone has to offer and I still think this is the best deal.
another deal breaker would be the battery which I manage to drain in approx. 3 to 4 hours, but this is the beggining and you have to consider that except for sleeping it has always been in my hand, listenng to music, makeing photos, always connected to skype and wlan, etc. yesterday i couldn't even scroll properly, now I can I can hit the small quote and reply button without any problems, without zoom, and for didn't had this device, trust me it's small. I can tell you my opinion since I haven't got used to it yet, but this device has so much pottential, and after pr 1.2 is out we will havw Qt which means than in the short future, any program/app made for MeeGo or Symbian will be also usable on this one (if you have the right hardware - by this I mean, you can't expect to be able to use a program which will ask you for a hardware which you don't have). so you shouldn't care if you get MeeGo or not since the first meego device will come at the end of the year. also in the future it will be easier for the developers to develop application ussing Qt for more than one device which will mean bigger market for them since nokia it's the number one mobiles producer. now we have smaller markets since we have so many devices with differens resolutions etc. , in the future Qt will take care of that, makeing an application avavilable over all the platforms and devices.
if you wan't to wait wait, but you're going wait 6-9 months for a device whith slightly better configuration but which which will run the sam programs as the N900.
it make a review for the device in 2 weeks from my point of view, as a normal guy with almost no knowledge about linux, but good at understanding technology who comes from the E51, whithout ever owning an Iphone ar android.
