it has to be said "You get what you pay for" and guess what? We didn't get what we paid for. well.... maybe half of it.
Thing is, I paid £249 for my PS3, but I paid £499 for my N900, and my PS3 has worked flawlessly, not a single snag or problem has arisen since I bought it. Now 99%.of people will agree that when you pay twice the price for something, you expect more from it, not less! No one on this earth would go and pay more money to have less.
I am totally aware that its not really justifiable comparing a PS3 to a N900, but its the principle of the situation that matters. When you pay the best money, you expect the best product. I believe what Nokia are doing / have done / will do is wrong, and people are well within reason to walk away, as its not a satisfactory release. (yes there will always be bugs / fixes in this type of product, but sort the major ones out first!)
Either they should of developed it more before public release, or not at all and foused on something else.
I adore my N900, and its for this reason i will hold on for as long as neccessary till things get fixed, but not everyone else feels the same way I do, so its easy to see why others dont have the patience, time or money to idle about with their new purchase waiting for it to be fixed. I cant think of any other company where customers would put up with so much crap from the manufacture. Wheres the customer contact, the after care, the support, wheres the professioanlism?!?!
Hiding away in silence, with your tail between your legs isnt gonna solve the problem. People want answers, people want reassurance, people want truth. The customer is the bloodline of any business, and Nokia just doesnt seem to care, thats whats more shocking than anything else.
