update! just flashed to titan's XLV kernel, the 250/500/600/800 version. I'm using this instead of the XLV 500/800 version for better battery life.

seems to be rock steady! tried enabling 125mhz under etc/pmconfig, got the same behaviour that titan got: that the cpu idles at 600mhz consistently instead of scaling down to 125mhz. in the end i switched off 125mhz mode.
