It depends on what you want. I happen to like the built in player a lot, but it has two features lacking that I would love for it to have.

1.- A built in equalizer

2.- The ability of building a play list by selecting files from the file system and not just from the tracker meta-file data.

The first one is basically solved by a third party program called MAFW Equalizer. (Unfortunately it is CPU intensive and therefore degrades performance and battery life.)

Number two is partially solved by a media player called symfonie. It allows one to browse into a folder and select the files within to play them. It comes with a built in equalizer. However, it has no concept of a playlist. So its usefulness is limited.

Between these two programs I do rather well until the perfect player comes along.
