What I meant was that developers might have been skeptical because at the time of its release, they knew Maemo5 only runs on one phone, but might run on more, so more consumers so might be worth it to develop for it.
And now they will be even more skeptical because Nokia practically announced that the N900 will be the only phone to ever run Maemo5. Now Maemo and Meego may be similar, but not the same, so some porting will need to be done. So developers might think: lets wait for Meego. So now we won't be expecting many apps for Maemo5.
I always expected something similar to happen. But at least a year from Maemo's release..not mere months. I really do believe that developers were interested in the N900 but now decided to wait for Meego.
I am not whining (well maybe a bit) but I do feel a bit betrayed by Nokia. After all I have been using Symbian for a while and loved it. I chose Maemo because I know Symbian too well now. I was bored. Maemo is a whole new adventure. But I wouldn't mind if some big companies develop for this phone and I believe Nokia scared them away (until Meego that is).
