I have been seeking answers as all of you have. From what I read the Blackberry Pearl 8100 is locked down. There appears to be attempts to make it work, but I am yet to see full success. I use the IT 770. I have found out, through Cingular rep. that I can take my sim card out of the 8100 and move it to my original phone (Sony Ericsson w600i). All "wap.cingular.com" services would be available and no extra charge. I have the BB Ent plan. The rep said that the unlimited data covers both BB and WAP internet connections. I plan on keeping my old phone that tethered fine to the 770, nearby. This way if the BB does not give me what I need, I can pop out the sim and use my tethered 770. It isn't perfect, but it will work. I need my BB for work mostly. So those days I am stuck in the airport and want to tether, I can do the above and be online with my 770.
