livescore.in allow you to have your own free live score feed on your website. they are using xscores.com live xml data feed.
maybe either of those sites will allow you to use that for auto updates on the live feeds.
reason i like livescore.in is that it updates as fast as the bookies sites(which is faster then most livescore sites) and you can view the goal scorer or yellow/red cards etc, and the time is live too, there is sounds for goals and half/full time whistles. It's got a nice layout so maybe if you can't use their data feed maybe using some design/features may help.
with regards to news feeds. i think the user should be able to edit these. the reason being is i speak only english but i like to keep track of leagues from around the world.
