Did that a long while ago (actually I'm the one that reported this bug , and the observation was entered in the comments on that same day). It's already there.

But as far as I can see, even with the bug marked as BLOCKER, it's still NEW. I sincerely hope it's being worked on, since it's pretty much making the Maps app useless when roaming (when it would be the most useful).
