Wow, you're fast . The thanks was for the suggestion, now for the procedure & my results .

I first tried to remove all the canola packages on my device, which according to 'dpkg -l | grep canola' was canola2, canolad, canola2-theme-flatblack & canola-thumbnailer. I then ran 'apt-get autoremove' which removed a piss-pot full of C**P & lastly ran 'apt-get clean' with gave no feedback.

Unfortunately now 'dpkg -l | grep canola' still shows canola2 installed .
Code:
rc canola2 2.0.0-maemo1 Canola media player.
'apt-get remove canola2' says it's not installed, so maybe I'm just confused about the package status, what does 'rc' mean?

So I restarted the device, re-ran both the autoremove & the clean for kicks & my device IS NOT connected via USB, both the internal & external storage's are available. I go into the app manager & dive into -devel but Canola2 is not available to install . I do a search in the app manager & while I can see all the Canola add-ons it seems that it thinks that Canola2 is still installed but does not show up in the list of installed packages.

So how can I proceed? TX
