I checked,

It is impossible, that the application is running after you have uninstalled it.

However with apt-get -r you remove only the exacutable and few more, not configuration files... it is valid for every other package. However, I will make an update in following week, that will remove all the stuff while is being uninstalled.

For now you are left with about 5kb at most of configuration on your N900. If you can leave with it, you can install the app now, however if you can't leave without this extra 5kb, then unfortunatelly have to wait week more
