Are you? It sounds more like a rather extensive misunderstanding of what open source is and how it functions. Only for their bits. Please go read and try to grasp the GPLv2, which is what covers much of Maemo and MeeGo. Not without a cost. Because they expected an App store and didn't get it is my guess. There are loopholes. Go look at Tivo, and the proposed DRM mode of future devices. That's why the GPLv3 was written (and why avoiding it is going to be par for the course for MeeGo.) Simple, they gave me awesome hardware to work with and didn't lock it down to the point of unusability. That's actually extremely unusual in the mobile industry.
