Let me extend on this. As an OSS developer I actually *want* other people to use and extend that code in accordance with the license. And since Maemo is all Linuxy, there is actually no reason NOT to do that. A piece of OSS code that nobody used might have just as well been guarded by a 1000 lawyers, the end result is the same. It’s about shifting the focus from ’how to prevent others from benefiting’ to ’how to benefit my project’. Call me naive, but I still very much prefer a project of mine succeed than somebody else’s to fail - and those two things are much less contradictory than one might think at first.
