And yeah, S^3 is basically S60v5 with a little bit of polish.. I guess Nokia relies on people who've always bought Nokia to buy that one, because it's so much behind the competitors OS vice. The hardware is good though (and especially the qwerty slider model is really slick), so they'd have to promise the device(s) S^4 upgrade to attract buyers.
Wait, is there a qwerty slider model ? If so put me down for one. I am one of those 'nuts' that always buy Nokia and fortunately for Nokia, I am not alone. Admit it, they still make the best hardware both in durability and function. HTC Desire is ok but no TV-OUT, mono speakers, no keyboard ? really ?.

Software is liquid and can always change but not hardware and Symbian is most stable and functional of the lot in my opinion. Its a shame that the OS 'book' is now judged by its cover. I have read of improvements to Symbian: 64 bit fileserver, HDMI and multicore support, QT framework, J2ME VM etc. Its not as good looking as its peers but still the most fit for purpose (phone call management still matters). What did good looks ever do for WebOs ? Even the 'illustrous' iPhone OS had to copy s60 task manager. Anyway IMHO Symbian will remain number one and I dont see any moves by competitors that will change this view. Thanks.
