It should fix it for one sync anyway. If you have recurring appointments (and, I think, in some other cases) the calendar sync will silently fail. I've resorted to disabling calendar sync (otherwise it stops the email sync working) and doing a one-off sync to a new calendar every now and then, removing the old one afterwards.
