The following location......

/opt/maemo/usr/share/sounds/mapper/
contains files with names *.spx, namely....

turn-left.spx
turn-right.spx
first-exit.spx
second-exit.spx
third-exit.spx
slight-left.spx
slight-right.spx
straight.spx
replace these with the new ones in the attached file to get voice prompts in English.

You can also create your own prompts by converting .wav/mp3 files (sound recordings) to .spx (speex codec)
using SpeexDrop.
