You should really check out Knots2, it kicks plenty asses. I don't know if there's anything like it on other platforms yet, but to me it's sure better than any last fm or spotify stuff.

Otherwise, I do agree with you that things move far too slow here. I'm not sure how many chances the linux loving people will give this device, because the hardware starts to fall behind pretty soon. They just have to release the new Qt4.6 support very very soon or people will get tired.
