the fscking OS does not reside in the boot sector! Fricking Educate yourself! If you take an entire dump of the OS you are taking a dump of the DAMN ROOT FILESYSTEM. Before you sit and argue with a bunch of Developers, Administrators, Systems Engineers (Yes, I'm actually using this seriously now), and general Linux Guru's at the very least try and get your terminology right.
