Dear all,
On my new n770, I have noticed that the time for gpe calendar (via gpesummary) and the (sync time for) omweather are 4 hours ahead of EST.
The normal clock home time is set to EST, and, the /etc/localtime is symlinked to the correct zoneinfo file. I've relinked to be sure. (I have a complete zoneinfo setup.)
I have the latest flashed ROM, and, I'm booting off of MMC. I was wondering if the timezone setting was getting set so early in the boot process with some pivot-root happening that changing something in /etc wasn't affecting it.
I've also looked in /etc/timezone (was set to Europe/Helsinki - I set it (with no newline likewise) to be America/New_York).
Nothing seems to affect those two apps. (There was another I'd noted that had a skewed time as well, but I can't recall which).
date gives the correct time/date at the shell prompt.
I've also manually set TZ in /etc/profile.
Nothing seems to affect those two apps.
And, the "normal" time (and the time at which alarms in the supplied calendar app ring) is correct.
As an aside - I've noticed a pretty bad drift in the clock anyhow - anybody else getting that?
I periodically sync with ntpdate, and, that also gets the right time.
So, any thoughts?
Kind regards
Derek Jones.
