Agree with the author. We shouldnt have to contribute to develop apps to get apps or test etc. We paid for a 'finished' device (although we all know thats not true). That's what a consumer expects when a product is purchased. We arent Beta users but we are kind of. We knew Maemo 6 was to come out in 2010/2011 and Maemo 5 was a stepping stone but if someone wants to know what happened to all the momentum around the device, an answer shouldnt be "you develop it".

That said - I'm actually very satisfied with a device that is developing with my use. Every day when I think i need a particular function I find a way to do it on this forum. Which is beautiful :P

I do miss some apps (cough cough google maps) but I just cannot part from the browser and the qwerty keyboard. No phone can.
