I also get this behavior, but how did you even get to the fix keyboard icon when the keyboard is disabled since Ctrl+Backspace is also disabled? I had to use the shortcutd app which lets me access the task manager through the camera button. Then I can get to the Maemo application manager, and after pressing the fix keyboard icon I get the "Information" window of LXDE without LXDE. When I then maximize LXDE from the task manager, the keyboard indeed is not fixed. But this is anyway such an awkward procedure compared to the power button trick that I think the fix keyboard app could just be thrown out.
