I have the Archos 604 WiFi as a bedside video/music player.

It is perfect for that. A brilliant device. The video playback is perfect and reliable and it can pull media easily off the network and actually play it, unlike my N800 and N770.

I have an Infrant ReadyNAS. The UPnP server Infrant has apparently mangles some XML that many devices are fine with, but the available options for network media playback on Maemo are not.

And the ones that *do* play (because there are no spaces or "weird" characters) on the N800 skip and stutter.

I was not interested in re-encoding content just for my Maemo devices. The Archos takes care of that problem for me.

PS I think the Browser experience on the Archos devices is silly. I also dislike that I can't create a video playlist. But all in all I'm happy with it. The video playlist thing *really* annoys me though.
