Could it be that the tons of small files that Maemo Mapper uses for its maps is contributing or causing this issue? I know that the cards are rated for a certain amount of writes usually... but with a ton of small files, you're doing a ton of writes... I don't know. It's going to be interesting to see if the issue suddenly disappears and stops being reported once the new version of Maemo Mapper is released with the new database file format. (I love Maemo Mapper and i'm not trying to blame it for damage... just seems like a common thread.)
