The main problem is that the analysis is based on data about competitors supplied by Intel. So Anandtech says 'moorestown is competitive because it idles at 21-23mW and Snapdragon phones idle at 25mW'. The conclusion is skewed as that 25mW in Snapdragon includes the *whole* phone, while the 21-23mW figure is just for the moorestown - which conveniently misses RAM, flash, the baseband/radio processor and similar 'details'. OMAP4 and upgoming snapdragons are in the <10mW idle range.
