wow, 196000 apps, no thanks, I still can't even decide between vi and nano, although I did give up on emacs long ago
Seriously what kind of duplication and redundancy is there in there. I could try 10 apps per day for the next 53 years! I am not a communist or anything, ut I don't really see a need for me to go to the grocery store and there be 294 different brands of chocolate chip cookies and 1235 different brands of salsa. That is the state of the app-store today. You need some seriously heavy duty chest height cruft waders.
For many, many of these things that are so called apps, the browser would do just fine, then again it is a nice neat little way of having preloaded graphics packaged for your platform in order to try to swallow the web with a closed ecosystem, nice try Steve.
Of course Apple has the highest margin on their devices, they seemed to always have had that little extra $omething
So now to the Android thing, as android seems to be the inevitable next mobile OS market leader in the US, I think Nokia's strategy of a range of devices from phones to tablets to tvs, etc all running meego is definitely a better arrow for the NEW target. So much for the folks on here who wanted to stay with Nokia if they would just switch to a monolithic one device, one OS,one app running at atime, one application store, lowest common denominator strategy. There is already a company for that, Apple. Apple, i hope you enjoyed your 2 year run on top, you just got niched.
