I'm one of the people looking forward to the 1.2 upgrade for that very reason Fatal. I knew coming into the N900 that there was a big risk of ending up with a stagnant platform that takes off slowly, but I also believed that Nokia truly would make a big drive to get developers on board. They did so many things right but they failed at many a critical step. What I would like to see is a more cohesive and coordinated response from Nokia towards the platform. Overall I do see the Maemo/Meego platform becoming competitive in the long run, but not within the N900s lifetime.
