i don't understand. really. i mean: do you notice that the things you mention take time on a much more powerful desktop or laptop, too? in ubuntu, when i open the equivalent of the application manager to update software, i'm greeted by a progress bar the same way application manager greets me with a spinning wheel - only that the N900 is faster than my dual core laptop.

thats the way it is with computers. in the office, from the moment i double click on the outlook icon to the moment when i can open the first mail, it's a little over 3 minutes. you complain about modest??!!

really..i wonder where these expectations come from. don't you guys ever use computers?
