You mean, "I make my research up before it's released?" This is like blaming Ford for a false review from Consumer Reports. If a store or news site is telling you things about a device that turn out to not be true, you can hardly blame the manufacturer, especially when they made no such claim.

As for the software side, there currently is pretty good Java support, and limited MIDP support. See the solutions thread for more on that and other things that have viable fixes or work arounds.
