I had a look on my N900 and found these .deb files that I have installed:
Code:
# find /var -name "*.deb"
/var/cache/apt/archives/libmagic1_4.12-1osso_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/openssh-server_1%3a5.1p1-6.maemo5_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/openssh-common_1%3a5.1p1-6.maemo5_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/wget_1.10.2-2osso3_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/openssh-client_1%3a5.1p1-6.maemo5_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/openssh_1%3a5.1p1-6.maemo5_all.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/less_418-1maemo2+0m5_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/file_4.12-1osso_armel.deb
/var/cache/apt/archives/wireless-tools_30~pre7-1.3maemo+0m5_armel.deb
Keeping them on the phone or not is a matter of taste. It's easy to reinstall them if you still have them but it takes up some space.

You could always try to use the /home partition in creative ways but that's a bit more advanced.
