I have a question about free wi-fi;

I have tried in a number of places and get a message....something like "wi-fi error; cannot connect" (I don't have my N800 readily available so I'm trying to remember the message". No more information.

The last one was at a local hospital yesterday; they advertise they have free access and I was able to see it....but to no avail....

Any clue?
