Another clueless german.

When i visited germany years ago, I told an electrical / computer engineer friend about this hot new thing called "ADSL" pushing hundreds of kb/s over copper - an american invention - they said 'this is not possible'.

This was 1995. 4 years later germany was still resisting DSL in favor of their ISDN. "Oh dis DSL is not invented heah! Dis american technology can not exist! It must be wrong or bad!" Oh and i shouldn't forget to mention that they wired up ALL of east germany with fiber that can't carry TCP/IP. No really.

Sorry, i'm living in a land of socialists and luddites. Can't even get my tax forms online in pdf form. They still waste billions on outdated office procedures filing all correspondence into three ring binders.

And Wolfgang Gruener is an idiot. I can only hope the next gen germans are less cranially-rectally inverted in the tech department.
