Clearly the fathomised 2 BILLION VIEWS OMG!!1! must be a great thing for flash. As far as I know Google and Adobe are in fairly good terms. What if they were not?
It's not about the relationship(s) in my opinion. It's about the delivery method chosen. If YouTube were to have an HTML5 variant that got the same amount of hits or they could switch to an HTML5 only method and replace the Flash method, then I'd see why people are chanting "death of Flash". But as it stands, Flash has yet to be replaced fully and successfully. Until then; that's all premature.

If Youtube switched to HTML5, most of the people using Youtube would not notice. Nor care. As long as it worked. Also, there lies the greatest momentum for bringing HTML5 to general public.
