ok, flashed the new firmware and then the new eMMC ...
went through without errors, but it did have only "□" instead of numbers and characters for entering the PIN and the layout was a bit messed up
could tap the correct fields for the pin-number and the pin was accepted too, but it continued to show "□" when it started up ...

reflashed the eMMC ... didn't change anything

reflashed the firmware again ... now working fine ...
(didn't try to flash eMMC with the new version again)

haven't tried much yet, but things i noticed so far:
- calender widget doesn't show birthdays from contacts anymore (those were the ones that were pink i think)
- you can now delete a email from the notification window *yay*
- facebook doesn't redirect you to the mobile version anymore (don't know if that because of PR 1.2 ... had hide user agent installed and set up to now)
- programs are now all accessible on one page
