If your desktop is running Windows, the resolution is irrelevant. Remote Desktop can open up a new non-console session, and it can use whatever resolution you want. In Windows that's accomplished with:
mstsc /v:host /w:800 /h:600
(for example)
I believe rdesktop for the 770/800 automatically specifies the resolution of the device. It is a bit cramped though!

Anyone know how to double-click in rdesktop from your 770????????????????
Or how about special key combinations? Ctrl/alt/etc
