One dimensional metrics are generally true for hobbyist with simpler usage patters. Case in point, PC gamers/modders. When you try to make decisions for a more complex problems (ie: choosing a handheld device to use for 20,000 mobile workers in 15 countries) then 'the best device' won't be measured with as simple metrics as the previous example.

I just want to say I agree that iPhone is smoother in UI, but since hardware-wise N900's overhead is higher, the comparison is unfair.
Will you accept an iPhone fanboy citing (Apple's design decision of) not having a hardware keyboard when they fall behind in typing speed? Let's not pick and choose as you deem convenient. These products all have compromises, none of them are universally perfect.

I also think that you will have to eat your own words when this deficiency is fixed in the future (unofficial MeeGo for N900, maybe).
