Apple argues that it is, and petitioned against a DMCA exception for Jailbreaking. Certainly it isn't worth their time or money to pursue it, but they could whenever they felt it was.

My point, however, is that you have to -fight- Apple for control of your property. I don't want that fight. I especially don't want what Motorola does to their non-Milestone/DROID devices.

Whether carries supply it is immaterial, so long as the vendor makes it available. Certainly, that's one thing I do like about Nokia is not being -forced- to go through a carrier.

Do you mean that they ditched Maemo, which you say just as PR1.2 comes out? I would hold off on any ditching comments, especially with the N900 just now popping up in other countries.
