I think it is a common error made on this website to assume that because something has not happened to me personally it is a problem that does not exist at all.

I got two very very massive scratches on my screen after only a month and that was despite my treating the device with great care. I think it is very widely accepted that the screen is very prone to scratching although it is probably a problem with resistive screens rather than the N900. That reason alone is enough to make me glad that Nokia is moving away from resistive (in addition to the fact that whether people on here choose to admit it or not) capacitive screens are just so much more responsive.
