If you have to ask, I would say no.

This phone is for techno geeks who like to tinker and explore what they can do with their phones. For these guys this is the uber phone, and they are right. These guys dont need support from Nokia and so they are fine with Nokia's lackluster support. They are happy with the capabilities of the phone now and wont care if an asteriod hit Nokia tomorrow and Nokia ceased to exist.

If you expect stuff to "just work" - do NOT get this phone.

If you expect support from major commercial 3rd party developers, do NOT get this phone.

If you expect Nokia to continue to support and port apps or new versions of OSes to this phone, do NOT get this phone.

Basically, do NOT buy this phone hoping for future updates that MAY come. Only buy it if you are happy with it NOW.

Think of it this way - Assume that from tomorrow you will get NO more support for this phone other then what YOU YOURSELF can modify or code. If you are STILL happy with the N900 as it is NOW, then BUY the phone.

However, if you feel unease at the prospect that the N900 gets no external support from tomorrow onwards, then do NOT buy the phone.
