Thanks a lot to all the genii in this thread! No more scrolling through 75+ icons...



Though I really hope that one day there'll be a graphical interface for this - I had a lot of fun messing with those XML-Files, but being forced to use CTRL-Shift-X every time I made a typo in one of them... well, let's just say I really don't believe the N900's keyboard was made for using key combinations...

Special thanks to Rob1n for posting those example files. I rather enjoy the concept of simply MergeDir-ing the folders in, especially since that way one only has to edit the hildon.menu file once (other than for re-ordering reasons - but I myself even completely removed the Layout-Tags).

That's actually a big advantage to me, since I tend to keep my podgy fingers over those icons far too long, thus activating the new re-positioning mode. Which then completely overwrites my hildon.menu...

But thanks to that concept all the important information's savely stored away in the submenu folder.
